An Ask Claude button can now run a slash command or skill, such as /plug-build, in a project folder.

Button settings

  • Folder: Claude starts here, so it picks up that project's .claude/ commands and skills and its CLAUDE.md. It defaults to the home folder. Plug checks the folder exists before running.
  • Claude may:
    • "Read and answer only" passes --permission-mode dontAsk, the default.
    • "Also edit files in the folder" passes acceptEdits.
  • Also allow: passed as --allowedTools.
  • What isn't allowed is refused: nobody is there to approve anything, so Claude Code refuses whatever these settings don't allow.
  • No full-access level: there is deliberately no "skip all permissions" level.
  • Older buttons still load: buttons saved before this load unchanged, because the new settings are optional. A test covers this.
  • PATH for button programs: they get ~/.local/bin, /opt/homebrew/bin, /opt/homebrew/sbin and /usr/local/bin first, then Plug's own PATH. Plug opened from the Dock gets only the system PATH, so Claude couldn't find gh without this.

New slash commands in .claude/skills/

  • /plug-build [branch]: optionally switches branch, then pulls, runs swift test and scripts/bundle.sh, and reports in a few lines. It never quits or relaunches Plug, because the button runs inside Plug.
  • /plug-verify [branch]: does the same, then posts the report as a comment on the branch's open PR with gh. A Claude session watching that PR wakes on the comment and fixes what failed.

Tested

  • swift test on Linux: 49 tests pass.
  • On the owner's Mac mini (M4), before the PATH commit: swift test passed 60 tests, scripts/bundle.sh worked, and Plug opened (reported by Claude Code on that Mac).
  • /plug-build and /plug-verify haven't been run from a button yet.

I received the Mac build report from the Plug button, and it checks out.

  • 4ea2ad8 is the latest commit on claude/claude-commands, so the Mac built what's pushed.
  • 61 tests passed. That's the 60 from the earlier Mac run, plus the test for the button PATH that came with 4ea2ad8.
  • The build finished on macOS 15.7.9 with Swift 6.2.4.

This was the first full loop: a Plug button on the Mac ran /plug-verify, which built and tested Plug and posted this report here. The report reached the cloud session, which checked it against the branch. Nothing needs fixing.
